No Code Technology

What is No-Code Automation

No code automation has been around for a while, but the introduction of AI has ramped up its use significantly. The AI-supported no-code tools have opened up new opportunities to enhance our productivity, whether be in personal or in professional lives.

What is No-Code Platform?

First, a little about no-code technology. No-code technology refers to software platforms and tools that allow users to build applications/projects including process automation and workflow optimization without the need to write code.

These tasks can be performed using pre-built templates.

A no-code platform emerges from no-code technology and tools. It is software that allows users to create applications, integrations between programs etc., without the use of code.

And these platforms allow non-technical people, sometimes called citizen developers, to build systems to optimize workflows and processes, whether they are for personal or professional use.

What is No-Code Automation

No-code automation is using no-code tools to automate many tasks that take up time, energy and resources in terms of talent and money.

Types of No-Code Technology

There are a number of no-code technology categories and here are some of them:

  • Prompt-Based No-Code Automation Tools. ChatGPT has made the term ‘prompting’ so well known. One could prompt the software to create texts, marketing reports, images, and even provide code for various projects. But prompt-prompted tools have been known for us for a while through devices like Alexa and Siri.
  • Integration Tools. These are software tools where you use templates and/or minimal coding to connect various programs/apps to enhance productivity. For example, one can use such a program to connect a Gmail account and sort the emails according to subject, sender etc., and then forward selected emails to another app, such as Google Sheets, where the emails can automatically pushed to appropriate sheets. One can set up the system to forward the emails automatically and pre-set intervals. Zapier and Make are such tools.
  • App Development Tools. These were among the first group of tools that made no-code technology a buzzword. You can build anything from basic apps to websites using these tools. Bubble is one such tool.

As mentioned above, these are only some of the tools and the category of tools available differ, depending on whom you ask.

Benefits of No-Code Automation

  • A cost-effective solution to automate many of the mundane tasks as one doesn’t have to employ many developers.
  • Quick deployment.
  • Enhances productivity.
